Foot Orthotics:
Darlene Rempel, Certified Pedorthist
People are becoming more aware of orthotic therapy today.
Orthotics are inserts for your footwear that help correct
structural problems in the foot such as high arches or flat
feet. These problems often result in pain in the sole, heel,
forefoot, ankles, knees, and, sometimes, the hips and back.
Orthotics can also be helpful in addressing positional conditions
that lead to:
- Low back and pelvis pain
- Knee pain and foot problems such as plantar fasciitis
- The buildup of callus and formation of corns
- Diabetic foot wounds
- Complications from claw toes, hammer toes and bunions
Our custom orthotics are made from a plaster cast (3 dimensional
model of your foot) and from raw materials in our laboratory
in Kitchener. A full, hands-on assessment is taken to decide
on what specifications would suit your problems most appropriately
and all adjustments to the appliances can be done on-site,
while you wait.
